Emma Keown killed in hit-and-run incident in Madeira Beach, FL.

Reports coming out of Madeira Beach, Florida state that Emma Keown, 20, was killed in a hit-and-run incident. According to law enforcement, the accident occurred at about 2 AM on Gulf Boulevard. Keown was skateboarding with a few other individuals when a Dodge Ram pick-up truck hit them from behind. The driver of the truck fled the scene of the incident. Though police did locate his vehicle at 13707 Plymouth Street, they still have not located the perpetrator. Though Keown was rushed to the hospital, she died from the injuries she sustained. It is unknown as of yet the health conditions of the other individuals she was with.

A 24-year old passenger died in a car accident off of I-75. According to law enforcement, the accident occurred at about 3:30 AM. Joseph Lynch, 24, was driving a Honda Prelude when he swerved into the median. He overcorrected, which caused the car to lose control and to hit a tree. The car collided with the tree on the passenger side and the passenger, who is as of yet unidentified, died from his injuries. Lynch was taken to the hospital with critical injuries. The reason for the original drifting into the median is unknown. We wonder if the driver may have fallen asleep at the wheel.

Our hearts and thoughts go out to the victims’ families and communities, who we imagine have been deeply affected by these tragedies. We hope that those that are hospitalized have speedy recoveries.
