Reports coming out of Gadsden County, Florida state that Dorthy Leann Ranew was involved in a fatal car accident. According to law enforcement, the accident occurred on County Road 269, near Potter Road at about 9 AM. Police believe that Ranew was driving on the road when she lost control of the vehicle and hit a tree on the side of the road. Though she was taken to the hospital, she died of her injuries. It is as of yet unknown what caused Ranew to lose control of her vehicle. We wonder if this may have been a case of vehicle malfunction, distracted driving, an attempt to avoid an obstacle in the road, or an attempt to pass another vehicle.
Reports coming out of Plant City state that Claudia Alderman was involved in a fatal motorcycle accident. According to law enforcement, the accident occurred around North Michigan Avenue at about 12 AM, midnight. Police believe that Osbaldo Campos, 21, was driving in the wrong direction on East Reynolds Street. He collided head-on with Alderman’s motorcycle at the intersection of North Mobley Street. Alderman died from the injuries she sustained in the accident. Before the accident, a police officer had been attempting to stop Campos but the driver had not obeyed even though the officer attempted to detain the driver multiple times. Campos was charged with failure to obey a lawful order. We also wonder if this case could trigger a wrongful death claim.
