6 year old and man killed in drunk driving crash in Houston, TX.

Reports coming out of Houston, Texas state that a 6-year old boy and a man were allegedly both killed in two drunk driving incidents caused by the same man. According to law enforcement, the first accident occurred at about 3:30 PM in the 6600 block of Fannin. Blaine T. Boudreaux was driving a Dodge 1500 pick-up truck when he allegedly hit another car. Inside the car were two people, one of them being Carmen Esparza, and a 2-year old. These individuals were taken to the hospital with minor injuries. However, about three hours later, Boudreaux hit Leonard Batiste in the 4400 block of the Texas 5 Spur, near the University of Houston. Boudreaux did not stop to render and assist and instead drove on. He allegedly passed out at a red light in the 1400 block of Lockwood and East Freeway. He was woken by the honking of another driver and subsequently ran the light and collided with a Honda Civic head-on. The two individuals in the Honda, a mother and a child were hospitalized. The mother is critically injured while the child, 6-year old Joshua Medrano died from the injuries he sustained in the incident. He was arrested for intoxication manslaughter and failure to stop and render aid.

Unfortunately, drunk or intoxicated driving is not uncommon in Texas.

Reports coming out of San Antonio state that two people were killed and three critically injured in a drunk driving incident. Law enforcement believes that the incident occurred at about 11 PM on Highway 281 and Sonterra Boulevard. Police believe that Christopher Paul Marchini, 19, was speeding in a Lexus on the highway when he lost control of the car and slid off the road. The car went through the center cable and landed in the opposite lanes where it collided head-on with a Toyota. Two of the passengers in the Lexus died from their injuries. Marchini himself was hospitalized and is in critical health. He was charged with intoxication manslaughter. The two individuals in the Toyota were also taken to the hospital in critical condition.

Our hearts and thoughts go out to the families of the victims and we sincerely hope that those that are hospitalized have speedy recoveries. We encourage those who have experienced similar situations to contact a personal injury attorney who may be able to help explain one's rights and options in these types of cases
