Reports coming in from Galveston, Texas say that a couple from Crosby died in a car accident. Kendal Reed, who was 19, drifted across the opposite lanes of traffic and hit a pole. This occurred in the 4600 block of Seawall Boulevard at 3 AM. Law enforcement attempted to rescue Kendal Reed from the car but they were unsuccessful. His girlfriend, Sara Santana, who was 20, was taken to the hospital with severe injuries, but died soon after.

The couple leaves a 7-month-year-old boy behind. It is unknown whether alcohol played a factor in the accident.

Our hearts and thoughts go out to the families and communities of the victims. We imagine that they have been deeply saddened by this tragedy. We imagine they may have many questions.

Was the accident due to alcohol? If not, was there a vehicle malfunction that possibly caused the car to slam into the pole on the other side of the highway?

As you can imagine, car accidents are not uncommon in Texas.
