On Behalf of | Feb 10, 2015 | Car Accidents |

Student Jeremiah Ponce de Leon was killed in a car crash on FM 1971 in Panola County, Texas. Ponce de Leon was a high school student at Carthage High School. According to law enforcement, a state trooper, Kaleb Bullock, attempted to stop the student, who was driving at a very high speed, but by the time that he caught up with him, the car had already wrecked. Ponce de Leon died from the injuries that he sustained in the accident.

We wonder what the reason for the driver’s high speed was. Was there an emergency he was attending to? How did the accident happen? Was there a vehicle malfunction?

Jeremiah Ponce de Leon’s accident is not the only fatal car accident in Texas.

State trooper Javier Arana was killed in a car accident in El Paso, Texas. The car accident was caused by the driver of a pick-up truck. According to law enforcement, the accident occurred at the intersection of Bob Hope St. and Joe Battle St. The driver of the truck, Edgardo Flores, ran a red light and hit Arana’s car, who was driving to respond to a call. Police believe that Arana may have been speeding.

Arana died at the scene from the injuries that he sustained in the accident.

We question why the driver ran the red light. Was there a malfunction with the lights? Was the driver paying attention? Was there a vehicle malfunction?

Our thoughts and hearts go out to the drivers’ family and communities, who we imagine have been deeply affected by the accident. We understand that they may have many questions. The family members of the victims may have a wrongful death claim.
