An elderly woman died in a car accident in Austin, Texas. Law enforcement believe that at about 2 PM, an SUV rolled through a stop sign at Parkstone Heights Drive and was hit by a Dodge pick-up truck that was going south on Capital of Texas Highway. The driver of the SUV was the elderly woman and she died from the injuries that she sustained in the accident. The driver of the Dodge also was injured, but only in a minor way.
Why did the SUV go through the red light? Was there a vehicle malfunction? Was the driver not paying attention? Could this accident trigger a wrongful death claim?
As you can imagine, car accidents are not uncommon in Texas.
There was a multi-vehicle accident on State Highway 114 in Irving, near the Dallas/Fort Worth International Airport. Reports say that the accident occurred at around 6:30 AM in the middle lane of the highway. Law enforcement believes that the accident occurred when a Toyota Corolla had some sort of vehicle malfunction. Another car rear-ended it just a few moments later, after which two more cars hit the site.
Police say that the driver of the Toyota had gotten out of the car that had abruptly stopped. The second car involved in the accident did not see the Toyota and crashed into it.
