News coming out of Kingsbury, Texas reports that a pair of men were seriously injured after their vehicles collided head-on Wednesday evening on US Highway 90 East.
The car accident happened around 5 p.m. in the 12,000 block of Hwy. 90 near Kingsbury.
Texas Department of Public Safety Troopers said it appeared that the a 1996 Dodge Caravan traveling westbound drifted in to the eastbound lane, striking a 2008 Chevy Malibu, heading east, head-on.
EMS crews were able to quickly extract the driver of the Dodge. It is reported that the driver, Patrick Garrison is 23 years old and from Seguin, Texas. The passenger, Lorenzo Miles, 72, of Luling was trapped in the car. We are glad to hear that firefighters from Seguin Fire Department and Kingsbury Volunteer Fire Department worked quickly to remove Miles from the vehicle.
It took about 30 minutes for the emergency personnel to free the Luling resident from his car. An area of the highway was shutoff while emergency crews worked.
The injured people were taken by AirLife to University Hospital in San Antonio. Passenger injuries happen too often in Texas. Sometimes it is difficult to determine the cause of an accident.
