Our hearts and thoughts go out to the family and friends of Stephanie Michelle Donovan, 38, of Bell County. The woman of the Little-River Academy area died this past Friday night after a hit-and-run accident. The burial will follow at Reeds Lake Cemetery.
The Texas Department of Public Safety continued to search for the car that was involved in the deadly accident. If you have information that might help the Texas DPS, please do not hesitate to contact law enforcement as soon as possible. You can contact the Bell County Sheriff’s Office at 713-572-4900. Investigators have determined from debris at the scene that the vehicle was a 2011-2014 Ford Fiesta that may be dark colored.
Myers said investigators were working on getting video from gas stations in the area to see if they could identify the vehicle that was involved in the deadly accident. This video may help in the investigation and Stephanie Michelle’s family should they pursue a wrongful death claim.
Investigators alerted wrecking yards and body shops to be on the lookout for a Ford Fiesta with front-end damage.
Donovan was a passenger in a vehicle driven by her husband, troopers said. She got out of the vehicle for an unknown reason and was crossing the highway when a pickup truck struck her. The driver of the Fiesta did not stop, authorities said. Investigators don’t know whether the driver saw the woman.
Donovan was a Temple native that graduated from Rogers High School in 1992 and worked as an account clerk for 14 years at Don Ringler Chevrolet.
