On Behalf of | Dec 27, 2013 | Car Accidents |

Houston police are investigating an accident that resulted in the death of a young male. The car accident happened on the Gulf Freeway (South Interstate Highway 45). The car accident occurred about 11:25 p.m. this past Tuesday, December 24, 2013. Our hearts and prayers go out to his family and friends. We know that they may be encountering much grief. We also know that they most likely have many unanswered questions. Is this a wrongful death case.

The victim was 17 years old at the time of the incident. Officials pronounced him dead at the scene of the car accident. The young man was riding as passenger in a vehicle that was traveling northbound on 45. According to local news and police authorities, the vehicle stopped on the shoulder. Authorities do not know why they pulled over to the side of the road. Perhaps the car had car problems. The victim exited the car and either walked or ran across the northbound lanes on foot. He then attempted to cross the southbound lanes of the freeway. According to authorities, one driver was able to avoid hitting him. Yet, the driver of a white Ford Escape was unable to avoid striking the victim.  Could the Ford Escape driver have avoided him? The first and closer vehicle was able to avoid hitting the young man? Was the driver of the Ford Escape keeping a proper lookout in order to avoid the accident? Was the driver texting or talking on a cell phone? These are the questions the police authorities should ask.
